Sri Lanka have named their squad for the two-match Test series against Pakistan.
During the tour, Sri Lanka will play two Test matches against Pakistan, with the games scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore. The first Test will begin on November 9.
Kusal Mendis, who was recently appointed as Sri Lanka’s new Test captain, will lead the team throughout the series. Opening batter Pathum Nissanka has also been included in the squad, with hopes that he will regain full fitness before the first Test. Nissanka missed Sri Lanka’s tour of India in August due to a wrist injury.
Fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka has returned to the Test squad, while Eshan Malinga and Anjala Bandara have received their first call-ups for a Test tour.
However, opening batter Lahiru Udara, who scored an impressive 188 against the West Indies in June, has not been included in the squad. Wicketkeeper-batter Niroshan Dickwella has also been left out.
According to the current World Test Championship standings, Sri Lanka are placed seventh, while Pakistan occupy ninth position.
